Michigan is on track to have 100% of its energy coming from renewable resources by 2040 thanks to legislation Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed into law Tuesday.

Additionally, Whitmer signed a series of bills that are part of the clean energy package including legislation that gives the Michigan Public Service Commission the power to approve zoning applications for some solar and wind energy projects.
Plus, a “community and worker economic transition office” will be established within the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to assist workers with jobs tied to fossil fuel energy and internal combustion engine vehicles.
