Join us April 8th at 7 pm to hear

Kim Murphy-Kovalick tell us

what is going on with VNP.

Voters Not Politicians is a statewide nonpartisan nonprofit that began in 2017 with the sole purpose of ending gerrymandering. After successfully putting a constitutional amendment on the 2018 ballot with 100% volunteer circulation, VNP went on to pass Proposal 18-2. In 2022, we dusted off our clipboards and gathered 172,000 signatures to put Promote the Vote 2022 on the ballot and we are now working on a statewide education campaign to ensure Michigan voters know about the new ways they can access the ballot. I will provide an update on the federal case against the MICRC that requires redrawing 13 state legislative districts. Voters Not Politicians also advocates for pro-democracy legislation including passing the NPVIC in Michigan, closing the revolving door of legislator to lobbyist, and passage of the Michigan Voting Rights Act.

2024 Rural Summit

April 11-13 2024

The first annual Rural Summit was held in April 2023. Over 150 rural activists attended the Summit from 45 Michigan counties. These activists attended work sessions designed for sharing ideas about the work that has been previously done and ideas for moving forward with coordinated strategies.

On April 11-13, 2024 we plan to bring together even more rural activists, candidates, and elected officials, along with other organizations working in the rural organizing space to learn, discuss and collaborate to improve the lives of our rural neighbors in Michigan.
